根据统计，婴幼儿期儿童的嘴唇边至喉咙入口处的距离为16mm，因此奶嘴底部挡板到奶嘴最端部的长度应不大于16mm，否则奶嘴过长则可能会卡住喉咙，而造成窒息危险。
真正的奶嘴是指装在奶瓶上儿童用来吸奶的奶嘴，不属于此标准。
测试时注意玩具奶嘴应是自由状态下的长度。
